'Cyberpunk 2077' Rumors: Hints About Weapons To Be Featured Possibly Included in Job Listing

Devs looking for applicants with a 'passion for guns and military equipment'

"Cyberpunk 2077" is expected to differ significantly from CD Projekt Red's earlier well-known games.

Gone are the familiar protagonist, the fantastical setting and the recognizable characters. In their places are still unknown people, a futuristic world and a whole bunch of question marks.

For instance, gamers still do not know how combat will work in this upcoming title, though something posted recently by CD Projekt Red may contain some important clues.

Spotted by GamingBolt, a job ad posted by the development studio is seeking a weapons artist.

Upon checking out the listing, there were some lines that quickly stood out, such as the one that noted that the candidate who lands the job will be responsible for "modeling complex melee weapons and firearms designs."

The hired weapon artist must also possess a "passion for guns and military equipment."

Considering that the brief teaser CD Projekt Red provided along with a link to the job ad featured a number of police officers firing off some weapons, those aforementioned lines in the job ad make sense.

Still, even if guns are going to be weapons featured in "Cyberpunk 2077," not all characters in the game may be using firearms.

According to an earlier report from WCCF Tech, one of the character classes featured in the tabletop "Cyberpunk" role-playing game upon which the upcoming game is based on is cop, and those who belong to this class may indeed end up using guns. However, the others may not follow suit.

Other classes that may be featured are corporate, fixer, media, med-tech, netrunner, nomad, rockerboy, solo and techie, and it does not seem like characters who can be classified as those will be using guns, or at least not primarily.

In all likelihood, just as there are unconventional character classes in the game, weapon types may be quite varied as well.

No release date has been announced just yet for "Cyberpunk 2077," though more details about it should be made available soon.
