Dakota Fanning Brown Hair a Hit or Miss? (PHOTOS)
Actress Dakota Fanning debuted her new dark locks while at a premiere for the final part of the "Twilight" saga.
The well known blonde actress revealed a head of dark auburn hair on Monday night for "Breaking Dawn - Part 2." The actress claimed that the new look was for her role in the film. Fanning plays the character of Jane, who is a member of the Volturi guard. The first movie of the series she appeared in was "New Moon," which was released in 2009, followed by a second appearance in 2011 for "Breaking Dawn - Part 1."
For the premiere, the actress wore a dark, forest green dress that was embellished with a lace side and a small fabric belt around her waist. She wore her new, dark locks down in a far right side part with straightened tips and a small clip to the side. She paired the look with a deep pink shade of lipstick.
Fans had mixed reactions to the actress' new look. In a blog poll taken on Zap2It, 56 percent of fans said they "loved" the brown while nearly 44 percent said she should go back to blonde.
For the most part, fans agreed the Fanning's talent outshone her looks, regardless of her hair color.
"She's gorgeous either way! I admire her because she seems like a smart and grounded young lady and she's been in Hollywood most of her life, hopefully she doesn't get cocky and full of herself and/or go downhill like many young stars her age do," one fan raved.
"She's a beautiful, truly gifted and stellar actress, I hope she never starts messing with her body and face to try to look or be "better" because her talent alone is what will keep her on top," the user, Camille, added on a Yahoo blog.
"Breaking Dawn - Part 2" is set to release in theaters on Nov. 16.
