Dallas Cowboys Linebacker Sean Lee Questionable for Sunday's Game Against the Packers
Veteran linebacker Sean Lee may not be available when the Dallas Cowboys take on the Green Bay Packers this Sunday.
The eight-year pro has not participated in practice since he injured his hamstring in the fourth quarter of their game against the Arizona Cardinals on Sept. 25, and he was inactive when they played the Los Angeles Rams at home last Sunday.
Cowboys coach Jason Garrett still hasn't ruled him out of Sunday's game, but owner/general manager Jerry Jones has recently hinted that Lee might not play against the Packers.
"If we were not looking at a bye next week, then you could be more aggressive with this decision. But the fact that you've got a bye means that he could actually go [two] more weeks without putting competitive-type pressure on that hamstring. So that makes you head scratch a little bit," Jones said, via SportsDay.
"The nature of his imperfection was such that two or three weeks rest should do it. So all of that is in our minds as we make a decision today," he added.
That's a good point. The worst thing the Cowboys can do right now is to rush him back and have him aggravate the injury. So it's probably for the best if they bring him back after the bye week.
Lee didn't miss a single game due to injuries last season, but the Cowboys decided not to play him in the regular season finale against the Philadelphia Eagles since they have already clinched the National Football Conference (NFC) number one seed. Well, he didn't seem to think the game was "meaningless."
The two-time Pro Bowler has already missed 36 games due to injuries in his first six seasons in the National Football League (NFL). They will have to make sure he is fine before they bring him back because he's an important member of the team.
