Dallas Cowboys Roster News 2015: Cowboys Downplay Dez Bryant and Tyler Patmon Fight

For the Dallas Cowboys, a little scuffle between teammates isn't a big deal. The team made headlines as star wide receiver Dez Bryant and defensive back Tyler Patmon were recorded engaging in a shoving fight after an altercation blew up following a play.

The incident happened in the middle of scrimmage as both players knocked off their helmets and went on to shove each other, eventually swinging at each other. The video showed Bryant still arguing with Patmon over the scuffle, attempting to hit the defensive back again as tempers were still running high.

However, the Cowboys have downplayed this event and said it was nothing more than just an everyday thing that happens in practice. Given the physical nature of the sport, there are instances where these things are unavoidable, and the Cowboys claim that everything was settled after as both players shook hands and hugged.

Speaking to reporters, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones feels that there is no issue between the two guys, in fact, he welcomes these kinds of interactions as it shows just how committed the players are.

"This was our second day of having this crowd out here and the kind of atmosphere everybody has worked to put together, and that atmosphere breeds that kind of passion," Jones said. "It breeds that kind of excitement and sure enough here comes some after-the-whistle action. It didn't surprise me at all. As a matter of fact I was going past a TV screen and just stopped because I forget who it was, it was our network and man you would have thought it was CNN featuring something some big event going on."

"That's good stuff. That's training camp. Now that's not new. That's been happening at our training camps for years and years and years. It is a throwback to the years when you saw Michael Irvin out here, Deion [Sanders] and those guys," he laughed.
