Dallas Cowboys Roster Rumors 2015: Joseph Randle Emerging as Top Running Back
The Dallas Cowboys are still moving on from having the luxury of DeMarco Murray as a reliable running back. With the new season looming, there is still a question of who will be their top candidate.
There is certainly no shortage in people to chose from, with the Cowboys having five possible players to pick. However, from the injured to the rookie, there needs to be one who can step up and shoulder the responsibility that Murray left.
The most likely candidate has to be Joseph Randle. An undrafted running back, Randle has showed that he can play at the top level. Last season, he had an average of 6.73 yards per carry, and he certainly looks stronger at the moment than he did last year.
Though he still has some holes in the game that need to be refined, he will be fit enough to play alongside Tony Romo.
Earlier this week, Randle suffered a slight oblique strain that resulted in him being unable to finish his Monday afternoon session. However, when he was asked the next day, he gave positive news and even showed up to train – an indication that he is ready to step up for the Cowboys.
When asked about the injury, Randle was quick to downplay it.
"I feel great. My back just locked up on me, but I'll be alright," he told reporters. "That's been happening since middle school. I know how to handle it. I know how to handle my body. I'll be back, ready to go."
