Dallas Cowboys NT, Josh Brent, Arrested After Fatal Car Accident
Josh Brent, Dallas Cowboys nose tackle was arrested Saturday as teammate Jerry Brown Jr. was found dead after an accident whereby the former's car flipped over, in a crash that police are saying could amount to manslaughter.
Brent, 24, was reportedly booked into an Irving City Jail in Texas on one count of intoxication manslaughter according to CNN. Brent allegedly hit a curb during the early hours of Saturday morning when his car flipped and caught fire while he was allegedly intoxicated.
Irving police on the scene reportedly "believed alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash," according to CNN. While Brent is in his third season with the Cowboys, 25-year-old Brown joined the team's practice squad in October.

Brown and Brent were college teammates at the University of Illinois and decided to live together in Dallas according to NFL.com. However, Brent may be facing a second-degree felony which could result in anywhere from a two to 20-year prison sentence if charged.
Jerry Jones, Cowboys owner, reacted to the news of the fatal car crash that took place at 2 a.m. Saturday.
"We are deeply saddened by the news of this accident and the passing of Jerry Brown," Jones said, according to CNN. "At this time, our hearts and prayers and deepest sympathies are with the members of Jerry's family and all of those who knew him and loved him."
A number of high-profile players took to Twitter to express their condolences after learning about the accident. Damien Woody, former NFL offensive lineman offered his prayers for Brown's friends and family while speaking out about drunk driving.
"Prayers to the family of Cowboys DT Jerry Brown Jr who was killed by his teammate who was drinking and driving," Woody tweeted. "When are people going to learn!!"
Roy Miller, DT for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers also offered his prayers on Twitter.
"Prayers out to the family of Cowboys practice squad linebacker Jerry Brown Jr," Miller tweeted. "Sad deal once again another tragedy, we have to learn."
The Cowboys are scheduled to play against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
