Dallas Cowboys roster consists of 53 men
It was reported that the final roster of the Dallas Cowboys is finally revealed.
The team cut its roster down to 53 men, which meant they had to let go of 20 of their past players. Meanwhile, players Greg Hardy and Rolando McCain started their suspension last Saturday. They were not included in the 53-man roster, but are still in part of the roster.
Dallas released their two young quarterbacks, Dustin Vaughan and Jameill Showers. Vaughan recently received an extended look during the pre-season. Despite playing four quarters against Houston, he was still removed from the team. As for Showers, it was expected that he would be cut from the team due to his lack of activity last Thursday.
Two running backs were also released from the team: Gus Johnson and Ben Malena. Meanwhile, there is a possibility that they will be considered for the practice squad. Laurence Gibson also left the team as the offensive line, along with Shane McDermott who played backup for center.
The Cowboays maintained Darren McFadden, Joseph Randle, and Lance Dunbar as running backs, while Tyler Clutts acts as fullback. Out of all the rookies, Lucky Whitehead was the only one not released from the group. With the release of Ben Gardner, the defense line will consist of Davon Coleman, Ken Bishop, and Lavar Edwards.
