Dallas Mavericks vs. Sacramento Kings: Preview

Number eleven-ranked Sacramento Kings will be looking to improve their place in the Western Conference standings as they take on the Dallas Mavericks.

The game will be held on Sunday, March 27th, at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento.

The two teams already met thrice in the season, with the Kings holding two victories against the Mavericks' one. The first encounter happened on November 30th in Sacramento, with the Kings winning with a final score of 112-98.

In the said game, forward Demarcus Cousins was making his return after missing three games due to a lower back strain, and he made sure to make up for lost time. The 25-year old professional basketball player piled in 31 points, along with nine rebounds, and six assists, shooting 10 out of 24 from the field, through 37 minutes of playing time.

Stalwart guard Rajon Rondo also made significant contributions, scoring 21 points, along with five rebounds, shooting 6 out of 14 from the field, though 29 minutes of playing time.

Fortunes changed in their second game on January 5th, with the Mavericks winning through the skin of their teeth with a final score of 117-116, through two overtime periods. This time around, it was hometown boy Deron Williams who provided the heroics for the Mavericks, sinking in the final three-pointer right at the buzzer, giving his team the victory.

It was Dallas' 22nd consecutive home victory against Sacramento. Williams finished the game with 25 points, two rebounds, four assists, and two steals, shooting 10 out of 18 from the field, through 43 minutes of playing time.

The Kings managed to bounce back in the third game, winning by another narrow margin with a final score of 104-101, and subsequently ending their losing streak in Dallas.

Demarcus Cousins ended the game with a double-double, scoring 22 points, along with 13 rebounds and five assists, shooting 9 out of 17 from the field, through 36 minutes of playing time.

The Kings currently banner a 27-44 win-loss slate. The Grizzlies, on the other hand, hold a record of 41-31.
