Damian Lillard Uses Twitter to Make Up for Slighting Fan
NBA future star Damian Lillard used Twitter to confirm his "good guy" status as an athlete by reaching out to a slighted fan.
The Portland Trailblazers point guard was out shopping on Wednesday when a fan approached him asking for a picture. Lilliard was in the middle of shopping, so he told the high school student to let him finish shopping first. The boy was gone, and did not get his picture.
"I feel bad now," he said on Twitter after explaining the situation online.
To Lillard's surprise, the basketball fan replied to the reigning Rookie of the Year.
"That was me Damian. Its alright. I can't blame you. I bet its annoying taking a million pictures a day. Maybe next time :)" he responded on Twitter.
"told you to wait... My bad , we'll link up," Lillard replied back and then followed and direct messaged the fan who goes by the name of Siros Ardestani.
"Damian Lillard just told me to go meet him up at Bridgeport. On my way dog," Ardestani replied.
The result was a picture of the two smiling just a few hours after they spoke together.
"Definetely one of my favorite players off and on court," Ardestani Tweeted. "Thanks again man. Made my day way better without a doubt. Stay great!"
"Always been a priority to touch as many lives as possible through my success ..." Lillard Tweeted.
Lillard was a 1st round pick in the 2012 NBA draft from Weber State.
In his rookie campaign he impressed the league with 19 points per game and 6.5 assists.
