Damon on Brad Pitt: 'I Spend My Life Trying to Be Like Brad Pitt' But Fame Costs (VIDEO)
While most of the world would be happy to be Matt Damon, the "Elysium" actor admitted in a recent interview that he has his own role model to look up to.
"I spend my life trying to be like Brad Pitt," the Oscar winner said during an interview Tuesday.
Despite having a successful acting career that includes films like "Good Will Hunting" and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, it appears that there is always someone on top of you. Damon admitted during a recent interview that he admired his close friend Brad Pitt, who is also a huge Hollywood success.
But while Damon might admire Pitt's success, he also said in previous interviews that he is not jealous of the attention that follows Pitt around.
"I look at Brad-and I have for years-and when I'm with him I see the intensity of that other side of it," Damon told the Esquire early this month of his friends extreme celebrity. "And the paparazzi and the insane level of aggression they have and their willingness to break the law and invade his space-well, I wonder about that trade."
Damon admits that he is able to walk his kids down the street without all of the hassle.
"I remember telling him that I walk my kids to school, and his face just fell. He was very kind, but he was like, 'You b------.' Because he should be able to do that, too. And he can't."
His ability to have that kind of family time is probably the only thing that would make Pitt jealous of Damon the actor suggested.
"What else is he going to be jealous of?" Damon asked Matt Lauer on the "Today" show. He added with a laugh: "Yeah, he's jealous of me."
