'Dances with the Dragons' Air Date, Spoilers: Series Premiere Moved to April 2018

The initially scheduled fall broadcast date for the Japanese action-fantasy anime series "Saredo Tsumibito wa Ryuu to Odoru" or "Dances with the Dragons" has been moved to April 2018.

According to the latest tweet on the upcoming anime series' official Twitter account, the postponement is due to some unforeseen production circumstances that have now kept them from broadcasting the series on TBS in October. The production staff also expressed their apology for all the fans who have been anticipating the initially planned fall premiere.

"Dances with the Dragons" is set in an alternate world, mostly in the city of Eridana, whose territory is divided between the Tseberun Dragon Empire and the Lapetodes Seven Cities Alliance, with each half being separated by the Orielal River.

This world is inhabited by people who utilize a set of special abilities known as spell formulas, which are basically chemical reactions augmented with the use of special weapons known as the Magic Staff, which can bring about a magical, spell-like effect.

The people who use this kind of magic are known to be spell formulists, whose primary duty is to fight off the Beasts of Abhorrent Form — a set of natural creatures like Dragons, Aions, and Enormes, which can also use spell formulas to threaten the safety of humankind.

At the center of this story are friends and business partners Gaius Sorel and Gigina Ashley-Bufh, both of whom are the only employees of their spell formulist dispatch office aptly named, Ashley-Bufh & Sorel Co. Together they answer to the different requests they get from clients who require the services spell formalists like themselves.

The series is based on a series of Japanese light novels written by Laco Asai which were initially illustrated by Miyagi, who was later replaced by Zain. Seven Arcs Pictures will be producing the anime adaptation with Hiroshi Nishikori serving as chief director. Hirokazu Hanai is directing the series with Takayo Ikami working on the series composition and Masaru Kitao taking care of the character designs.

The opening and ending theme songs will be performed by fripSide and Maon-Kurosaki respectively.
