'Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars' Pairings Revealed, 1 Mystery Couple Remains
For the first time ever, ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" has welcomed back former contestants into the dance competition and are allowing the audience to select the last contestant.
Twelve contestants have already been announced, but the 13th spot is still available. It is believed that past "DWTS" contenders Carson Kressley, Sabrina Bryan, and Kyle Massey are competing for the coveted last spot.
"Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars" will re-introduce stars of season's past as well as their previous professional dance partners, including actresses, athletes, and singers, among many others.
Hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke-Charvet will return for the All-Stars season, which will likely see many of today's hottest musical acts as guest stars.
So far, "DWTS: All-Stars" has announced the following star and their respective dance partners:
-Pamela Anderson and Tristan MacManus
-Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy
-Helio Castroneves and Chelsie Hightower
-Joey Fatone and Kym Johnson
-Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough
-Drew Lachey and Anna Trebunskaya
-Gilles Marini and Peta Murgatroyd
-Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy
-Apolo Anton Ohno and Karina Smirnoff
-Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas
-Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani
-Emmitt Smith and Cherly Burke
Just one more celebrity and dancer pairing remain and depends on viewer's votes. Voting ends on Friday, Aug. 24 at 12 p.m. EST. The 13th cast member and their dance partner will be revealed on "Good Morning America" on Aug. 27.
In addition to many firsts for this season of "DWTS," the boy band 98 Degrees will reunite on the show for a performance. The band consists of "DWTS" return contestant Drew Lachey, his brother Nick, Justin Jeffre, and Jeff Timmons.
Although it has been years since he won the Mirror Ball Trophy during season two of "DWTS," Lachey said that "All-Stars" will prove his worth.
"They're talking about how intense the show is now and how much harder it's gotten and there might be some truth to that, but I kind of take that as a personal challenge for me to come out and represent and do well," said the singer and contestant, according to the Associated Press.
"DWTS: All-Stars" returns to ABC Monday, Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. EST.
