'Dancing With the Stars' News: Vanessa Lachey Suffers Injury During Rehearsals
Television host and actress Vanessa Lachey, who is a contestant on "Dancing With the Stars" season 25, recently suffered a bloody injury.
Thirteen celebrities and their professional dance partners performed their impressive routines last Monday evening in the hopes to win the Mirror Ball Trophy.
Lachey and dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy landed third place during the premiere of "Dancing With the Stars" season 25. Scoring 21 out of 31 points, the pair started the season well as they trailed behind violinist Lindsey Stirling and professional dancer Mark Ballas, and "You're Welcome" singer Jordan Fisher and professional dancer Lindsay Arnold, who both scored 22 points.
However, after doing well in the first leg of the competition, it looks like the duo is facing a major problem that could affect their next performance.
In a video exclusively sent to PEOPLE, the television personality is seen rehearsing her routine with her "Dancing With the Stars" pro partner on Friday, when she suddenly felt a pain in her foot.
Upon taking off one of her shoes, it was discovered that the big toe on her left foot was bleeding.
"That is going to be so painful," the 37-year-old pro was heard telling Lachey. "That hurts my soul. I'm sorry, this is not nice," he added.
Chmerkovskiy then wrapped the 36-year-old's injured toe with a bandage as she sat on the floor in tears.
The mother of three is currently ahead of her husband Nick Lachey in the competition, who is paired with professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd in "Dancing With the Stars" season 25.
The dancing duo reportedly scored only 18 points during the first week of the competition, just like the pairing of NBA coach Derek Fisher and Sharna Burgess, and "Pretty Little Liars" alum Sasha Pieterse and Gleb Savchenko.
Coming in at the bottom was Barbara Corcoran of "Shark Tank" and Keo Mostepe.
"Dancing With the Stars" airs on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
