Dancing With the Stars: Perfect Scores, Love, And Conrad Murray Judgments

The five remaining contestants on "Dancing with the Stars" have proven that they can give instant performances as well as full routines on the dance floor Monday night.

The final five were faced with the instant dance challenge – where Nancy Grace did not finish on top. She and partner Tristan MacManus received 20 points for their instant jive, after only receiving 24 out of 30 points for their full performance of the tango. With 44 points, the couple is in jeopardy of elimination tonight.

In addition to performing Monday night, celebrity prosecutor Grace later said that she believes Michael Jackson’s doctor, Conrad Murray, should have received Murder One. The trial revealed yesterday that Murray has been convicted of involuntary manslaughter of his former superstar patient.

“He should be doing life behind bars,” Grace told the Hollywood Reporter following her low-scoring night on “DWTS.”

In contrast to Grace, actor J.R. Martinez earned two consecutive perfect scores on Performance Night of “DWTS.” Monday saw that he and Karina Smirnoff received triple 10’s from the judges for their Waltz, and then another score perfect score of 30 for their instant Jive, placing them at the top of the score board with 60 points. The couple is a strong contender for Season 13’s mirror ball trophy.

Also slated to win is normally high-scoring Ricki Lake and pro dancing partner Derek Hough. The duo earned 28 points for the Waltz and then 24 points for their instant jive, leaving them with a total of 52 points for the night.

Although Lake is engaged, the former talk show host told ABC backstage that she loves her dancing partner and felt confident in their performance.

Lake said, “It was one of my favorites of the season. I felt like I did a really good job. I am so in love with this guy!”

She later cleared up the statement about Hough, saying, “I was so in love with him for the 90 seconds that we did [the dance]!”

The five couples are awaiting another elimination Tuesday. “Dancing with the Stars” airs on ABC at 9 p.m. EST.
