'Dancing With the Stars' Performance Night: Five Couples Left, Elimination Tuesday

ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” has seen seven weeks of competition, and the five remaining stars will return to the dance floor for tonight’s performances.

Monday marks week eight, and the stars-turned-dancers are nearing the end of season 13 and awaiting another elimination Tuesday.

The scores contestants received Monday will help predict who will be the next couple to go home.

Nancy Grace posted on Twitter ahead of Performance Night: “Tango! Instant jive! It’s hard to believe this is week 8! Tristan and I are working our tails off – will bring our best dance yet! #DWTS.”

She and partner Tristan MacManus have stayed toward the bottom of the scoreboards during past performances, and the 51-year-old has admitted that dancing is challenging. At the beginning of DWTS season 13, she revealed to ABC News that the decision was not without fear.

“Look at all the competition, they’re young, skinny, beautiful singers, soccer players, stars – I’m a lawyer,” said Grace.

Tonight will also see a performance by Ricki Lake and pro dancer Derek Hough. The duo is widely believed to win the mirror ball trophy at the end of season 13 after having earned some of the best scores all season.

Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke are Twitter’s most popular “DWTS” couple, and will perform on tonight’s episode as well.

Ahead of his performance, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star posted on his Twitter account: “Ok I need to really get on that #BEASTMODE diet this week cuz I got the quickstep and the jive next week and I’m gonna be out of breath!”

Also performing Monday will be J.R. Martinez and his partner Karina Smirnoff. The couple has coveted the highest scores of performance nights in the past, and is strong contenders for the mirror ball trophy.

Soccer star Hope Solo will be performing during week 8 alongside Maks Chmerkoviskiy. The couple has been at risk of elimination for receiving low scores from the judges during past performances.

“Dancing with the Stars” Performance Night airs Monday on ABC at 8 p.m. EST.
