'Dancing with the Stars' Season 19 News: Week 9 Dances Revealed
Week 9 of "Dancing with the Stars" marks the quarter finals round of the hit dance competition as six pairs remain to compete for the Mirror Ball Trophy for this season. Last week, it was all about the Immunity Challenge. On Monday, it's all about "Trios" as the celebrities get to dance with two pro partners.
Week 9 is also America's Choice Week, wherein the other routines, dance styles and music will be chosen online by voters, according to Wetpaint. The celebrities will be dancing two routines each.
Here's the lineup of dances for Week 9:
Tommy Chong and Peta Murgatroyd- Viennese Waltz to "Trouble"; Jazz with Sharna Burgess
Bethany Mota and Derek Hough- Viennese Waltz to "Say You Love Me"; Argentine Tango with Tony Dovolani
Janel Parrish and Valentin Chmerkovskiy- Quickstep to "Hey Boy! Hey Girl!"; Salsa with Keo Motsepe
Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson- Foxtrot to "Ain't That a Kick to the Head"; Paso Doble with Lindsay Arnold
Sadie Robertson and Mark Ballas- Jive to "1, 2, 3 Turnaround"; Foxtrot with Emma Slater
Lea Thompson and Artem Chigvintsev- Samba to "Animals"; Paso Doble with Henry Byalikov.
In a blog post in Hollywood Life, Ballas explained why they chose Slater as their pro, since in the show's history, it's unusual for female celebs to dance with female pros in the Trio.
"We've chosen Emma Slater to work with us because we're doing the Foxtrot," wrote Ballas. "We were originally going to choose a male for the Foxtrot so we can have Sadie dance with two guys, but the other pro that we wanted was taken … But I'm very excited to work with Emma, and it'll be great for Sadie to learn from a pro female all week."
"Dancing with the Stars" Season 19 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
