'Dancing with the Stars' season 21 cast news: Pairings revealed; Bindi Irwin excites viewers
"Dancing with the Stars" has finally revealed the latest portraits of its season 21 cast.
With the show's premiere a week away, the complete lineup, along with partner assignments, was announced during the airing of ABC's "Good Morning America." The list included Tamar Braxton and Val Chmerkovskiy, Gary Busey and Anna Trebunskaya, Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess, Paula Deen and Louis Van Amstel, Victor Espinoza and Karina Smirnoff, Andy Grammer and Allison Holker, Hayes Grier and Emma Slater, Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough, Chaka Khan and Keo Motsepe, Alexa PenaVega and Mark Ballas, Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson, Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold, as well as Kim Zolciak and Tony Dovolani.
The news brought speculations on possible forerunners in the group. One group that is expected to see success in the series was Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess. It was speculated that Carter will go far in the show since he is a great dancer.
Meanwhile, his partner Sharna Burgess addressed the speculations. According to Niagara Frontier Publications, she said that Carter has to shed his "hip-hop" vibe dancing and focus on learning how to ballroom dance.
She added, "I would love to say that we're going to win, but who knows at this point? We haven't seen anybody dance; and it seems like a really strong cast."
It was also reported that the upcoming season will see the departure of Len Goodman as a judge on the show. With that, reports by Hollywood Life revealed that the series will feature a guest judge every week to accompany Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Julianne Hough.
Another contender that have viewers excited for the season is Bindi Irwin, the daughter of Steve Irwin. Merely 17-years-old, she is partnered with Derek Hough. Her partner commented, "She's catching on quick. It's like she's had this dancer [lying] dormant inside of her body and now we're revealing it. It's awesome!"
Dancing with the Stars is expected to air on Sept. 14.
