'Dancing With the Stars' Season 21 News, Cast, Spoilers: Finale Will Be Open To The Public; Derek Hough Surprises Bindi Irwin With Boyfriend
"Dancing With the Stars" definitely has a tough but exciting competition ahead for its finalists 17-year-old Bindi Irwin, Backstreet Boy member Nick Carter, actor/singer Carlos PenaVega, and American hero/soldier Alek Skarlatos, and according to reports, the much-awaited finale will be filmed publicly.
The second night of the finale will be filmed publicly at The Grove in Los Angeles, as reported by LA Times. Everyone is welcome to watch but is reminded about the first-come, first-served basis. It is also said that attendees must already take their seats by 5:15 p.m. The finale will be around 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and audience should not worry about being bored as they can expect a pre-show to happen around 5:30 p.m. Andy Grammer and Chaka Khan are expected to perform during the said night, while Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews will host the show.
Meanwhile, in what could be one of Bindi Irwin's happiest days of her life, her partner Derek Hough surprised her with the appearance of her boyfriend Chandler Powell, during one of their rehearsals, which happens to be Chandler's birthday. "She was like, 'Oh my gosh, what are you doing here?' and she starts fixing her hair…it was so cute to see. It was great. We got to surprise her and I was so happy," Derek told E! News.
Irwin also stated that the surprise turned out to be a double celebration, saying, "It was so much fun. And it was Steve Irwin Day as well, so I got the two greatest days. We got to celebrate Chandler's birthday and then celebrate Steve Irwin Day all together. It was really, really nice." The wonderful surprise surely gave Irwin a break from all the pressure from the competition, plus the fact that this is Irwin's first Steve Irwin Day away from her home in Australia.
"Dancing With the Stars" airs Mondays, 8 p.m. on ABC.
