Dancing With the Stars Week 3: Who Will Go Home?

The cast of “Dancing with the Stars” are displaying their Rumba, Waltz, Foxtrot, and Samba dance skills during the third performance of the competition Monday night.

A look at the Twitter accounts of the stars-turned-dancers could reveal how they will score on their performance tonight.

Requiring physical strength and finesse, learning dance steps and routines has changed the physical appearance of some of the contestants. Many of the dancing stars have revealed the challenges of being on the show using Twitter, including Chaz Bono.

Bono has received critical scorn for his weight, and Twitter posts on his account suggest a struggle during dance rehearsals.

On Saturday, two days before the performance, Bono mentioned his injuries, saying, “My knees and ankles are feeling much better. Let’s get ready to Rumba.”

The grueling rehearsals have affected other dancing stars as well. “Had a killer rehearsal today with Tony today! 5 ½ hours. My feet feel like a truck driver ran over them,” wrote singer and contender Chynna Phillips after practicing last week.

Strong contender Kristin Cavallari had a tough start to learning the Samba with her partner, Mark Ballas during the third week also. She wrote on Twitter, “I had a rough day rehearsing. I started to pick it up at the end but the samba is hard!”

“I’m exhausted!” said Cavallari after rehearsing again Saturday. “Just finished a 5 hour rehearsal that killed me. The samba is definitely hard but I’m starting to have fun with it.”

Cavallari was told by “DWTS” judges that she has great potential, and has proved to be a main challenger for the mirrorball trophy.

“On my way to DWTS. I’m excited to show u guys my samba tonight. We have a fun song,” Wrote Cavallari Monday.

Former talk show host Ricki Lake reported that she lost over twelve inches in just three weeks.

“It’s not a bad way to get in shape for your wedding,” Lake told People magazine.

Speaking with The Christian Post, Sarah Shanholtzer Panek said that this week’s “DWTS” performances should reveal the rest of the season’s results.

“It’s three weeks in now,” said Panek, a professional dance instructor outside of Phoenix, Arizona. “In my opinion, these people will be as good as they ever are going to get at this mark in the competition.”

She explained, “The judges and the audience are going to be able to see the full potential of the dancers during this week’s performance.”

Monday night’s show is featuring all ten couple’s performances, followed by Tuesday’s “DWTS” results show, which will reveal the third couple to be eliminated.

“DWTS” co-host, Brooke Burke, urged viewers to tune into tonight’s show, posting on Twitter Sunday: “I just left #DWTS, seriously I was crying watching the packages. Don’t miss tomorrow night’s very personal show! Wow.”

“DWTS” airs Monday on ABC at 8 p.m. EST.
