Daniel Radcliffe Life After Potter
Daniel Radclife has graduated from Hogwarts and is busy making a life for himself in the post Harry Potter mania that swept throughout the world. He recently finished a successful stint in Broadway's "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" and has a role in the new movie "The Woman in Black."
In an interview with British newspaper The Sun, Radcliffe noted that it is hard to make a name after being in something as well-known as the Potter series. "There will be some people -- not everyone -- who will want to dismiss us as 'came out of the series and didn't do anything afterwards.' That's the story some people want to write. And I have to make extra sure they have absolutely no opportunity to do that."
He is a self-described workaholic who is just now preparing to take a three-week holiday. "I've never taken a break. I've worked since I was ten pretty much every day. This is all I've done, and I love it. And I don't want to swap it for anything."
Radcliffe also expressed relief at being done with the Harry Potter franchise and hope that he will be able to transition from child actor to successful adult actor through his role in "Woman" to Parade magazine. "People haven't seen me looking like this before. People haven't seen me playing a father-all those things are going to help separate it in their mind. But I think ultimately the thing that will help that reinvention is the face that the story is so good."
He has recently signed on to a new project profiling the controversial poet Allen Ginsberg. Ginsberg who is known for two longer works "Howl" and "Kaddish," died in 1997. Radcliffe has something personally in common with Ginsberg; both have seen peers' minds "destroyed by madness." In fact, Radcliffe gave up alcohol after feeling that his "inner life was being drowned." There is currently no date of release for the project.
"The Woman in Black" opens in theaters on Feb. 3, 2012.
