'Daredevil' season 2 cast news: The Butler joins the gang
The sophomore season of the hit Netflix series "Daredevil" is expected to add more new comic book characters.
It was reported by Deadline that the show signed Stephen Rider as a new regular on the series. His character will be Blake Tower, also known as "The Butler." Tower is known as a district attorney who will help Daredevil and Murdock find information about criminals. He is expected to help Daredevil capture the criminals for the season to come. The character of Tower is portrayed as a minor character in the Marvel comic book universe. He has been known to working with superheroes such as Captain America and She-Hulk. While Tower has no superpowers, he does offer plenty of knowledge concerning criminals and villains that serves as an advantage when fighting crime.
It was previously revealed that he will not be the only new face in the series. The star of "The Walking Dead" series Jon Bernthal will also join in as "The Punisher." His character is popular with fans of Marvel comic books due to his inclination toward violence and gore.
Another character that will be joining is Elektra, who will be played by Elodie Yung. Her character is expected to become the love interest of Daredevil. In the comic books, it was presented that the two had been in a relationship when they were in college.
With a successful first season, fans are excited to see Daredevil return. One of the main attractions of the series would be the visual effects. Bryan Godwin, expert in visual effects, explained that visual effects play a major role in the series. He said, "Visual effects have become so prolific and powerful that almost anything can be done. But it takes great concepts, storytelling and execution to put something on the screen that should be there to propel the story further and engage the audience."
Daredevil season 2 will premiere sometime next year.
