'Daredevil' season 2 premiere date & spoiler update: New suit revealed, new characters to join series
If the fans enjoyed the first season of "Daredevil" on Netflix, they will surely enjoy more of what's to come in the second season. To add to the excitement, the International Business Times reports that Netflix has just released a picture showing what the new Daredevil costume looks like.
The costume was first revealed through the show's official Twitter account when they posted an image of the upgraded superhero suit that Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) would be wearing in the Marvel series. In the picture, the costume is neatly boxed away, making it hard for fans to see if there were any changes done to the version they saw him wearing at the end of the first season. But some things can be obviously noticed—there's still no 'DD' logo on the breastplate and the suit has had a bit more black added to all the red it was sporting in season one.
Aside from the new suit, the fans can look forward to seeing Jon Bernthal (the Wolf of Wall Street, Fury) who is casted to play as the blind lawyer's foe and rival for season two of the Netflix/Marvel show. Bernthal is joining the show as the Punisher. According to Inverse, Bernthal is the perfect choice to play as the psychotic moralist because of his fierce look.
Photos of Bernthal as the Marvel anti-hero have also been released. They show the Punisher cutting up and beating up bad guys while donning a bulletproof vest. Marvel chief creative officer Joe Quesada shared his thoughts to IGN about Bernthal joining the series:
"We're so happy to have Jon Bernthal because we have such a world-class cast on Daredevil; we have a world-class actor in Charlie Cox that we want to make sure we chose and were able to attain an actor who is on that same level so I think the combination of seeing Charlie and John perform those parts on the same screen. It's going to be epic, absolutely epic."
Aside from the Punisher, Elektra will also finally make her series debut to the series. She will play as the love interest of Murdock.
Daredevil season 2 is set to premiere on Netflix in 2016.
