'Dark Souls III' News: Final DLC 'The Ringed City' Arrives on March 28
"Dark Souls III" will be getting its latest and final downloadable content (DLC) this March 28 for the PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One and PC. Bandai Namco Entertainment America has announced the "Dark Souls III: The Ringed City" DLC, along with a preview of the patch content.
The final DLC will lead players in pursuit of the Slave Knight Gael to the "literal end of the world" where his search for the Dark Soul of Humanity takes him. Gael was last seen in the previous "Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel" DLC, in which he led the lone adventurer into the Painted World of Ariandel.
This time the lone adventurer must find the way into the "madness of the earth" and unravel its long-hidden secrets. The Age of Fire is coming to an end, and all the lands converge upon themselves — the scenes depict a crumbling landscape, broken to the point of being inhospitable. Along the way are dangerous terrain and ancient beasts, and a small cast of characters on the brink of insanity. The ultimate goal is the long-lost Ringed City, filled with unknown horror and hopefully, the answers to tie a few loose ends.
The expansion will feature new enemies and bosses, and the new weapons, armor sets, items and spells to use against them. Aside from the new single-player areas, "The Ringed City" will also feature new player versus player (PvP) maps.
With the DLC comes a few key improvements, particularly in cooperative play and PvP. During online play, the new multiplayer maps will be available to anyone who owns at least one or both of "The Ringed City" or the previous "Ashes of Ariandel" DLC.
The last "Dark Souls III: The Ringed City" DLC will be available as a digital download on March 28 on PS4, Xbox One and PC for $15. A season pass that includes this final content plus the "Ashes of Ariandel" DLC is also available for $25.
