David Arquette on Fatherhood - 'You Have to Have Faith You Can Keep Them Safe'

Actor David Arquette is about to become a father for the second time and is thrilled. He recently said that becoming a father again is much easier because he's already been through it once.

"I know I've done it once so there's not that fear that a first-time parent has because you just don't know what to expect," Arquette told People. "Animals across the world have babies and they know how to take care of them instinctually. Us humans get so in our heads about it all but as soon as the baby comes it is just instinct."

Arquette and girlfriend Christina McLarty are expecting their first child together, but he is already a father to 9-year-old Coco by ex-wife Courteney Cox. She was the one to reveal that Arquette and McLarty are expecting a baby boy.

"They're going to have a baby boy," Cox told Ellen DeGeneres during an appearance on her show. "I hope I'm allowed to say it."

Cox then went on to reveal that daughter Coco was "really excited" about the new baby. "At first she was nervous because, you know, it's a big deal. At first I was nervous. I was like woo, heavy. Now it's great and we actually all had dinner the other night. The whole family. It's a very unique relationship. All of us like literally, me and Christina and David and Coco. It's great, though."

And Arquette is busy planning to help McLarty as much as possible with the new baby, even if that means rearranging his work schedule.

"I had to make sure they could get out in time long before my baby would be born. Whenever you get to do that you have to take them out of school for a few days but it's such a great bonding experience because she (Coco) gets to see what we do on the set. It'll be a really good time," he said of his four-week shoot in Puerto Rico.

"You have to have a lot of faith that you will be able to keep them safe and not mess them up too much," Arquette added.
