'Days of Our Lives' Spoilers: Kristian Alfonso Discusses 30 Years on TV and Aging

Kristian Alfonso is a veteran staple on "Days of Our Lives," but the actress revealed that she is unlike many other famous soap opera stars in a new interview.

With her official 30-year anniversary of landing the role of Hope Williams Brady on "Days" arriving in April, Alfonso reflected on her storied career on the legendary television series. The 5-year-old actress recalled her early acting days as well as the initial lessons learned on the set of "Days" back in the '80s, including those from co-stars Frances Reid (Alice) and Bill Hayes (Doug).

"Frances would always tell me, 'Don't worry. It's going to be fine.' I guess she could see how nervous I was, when I first started," Alfonso told About.com. "She'd say, 'Dear, it's going to be fine. Take a deep breath, it's going to be fine.'"

The actress admitted that she was less "seasoned" than her "Days" co-stars, recalling the moment she learned the importance of lighting on the film set.

"I can remember [former producer] Al Rabin coming over the loudspeaker saying, 'Face toward the light, Kristian, feel the light,'" the actress recounted. "I was like, 'What light?' There are like five million lights above my head."

Even more recently, Alfonso opened up about aging onscreen. The actress acknowledged the pressure to undergo plastic surgery similar to many daytime television actors before her. However, Alfonso remains committed to aging gracefully.

"I want my grandchildren to recognize me, and my children," the starlet told the Daily Telegraph. "I just say to my hubby, you know what honey, I'm just going to age gracefully, I'm too afraid to do anything."
