DC Collectibles News: Premium Movie Version Action Figures To Be Released Via DC Films

There is good news for DC fans and toy collectors as more movie-inspired DC collectibles will be available in the market soon. While it is true that DC Collectibles has already unveiled many of what toy collectors can look forward to this 2016, there is certainly more to come as revealed in this year's New York Toy Fair.

While movie-inspired toys are not new to DC Collectibles, this is actually the first time for the company to devote much of its attention to DC Films-inspired action figures and other collectibles, making sure that the action figures remain faithful to their movie incarnations . After many years of baiting in adult hardcore toy collectors and kids to purchase their creatively-crafted products, DC Collectibles will now include more of its parent company's movie characters.

According to the DC Comics, the new DC Films collectibles line will come with more than 40 points of articulation, which means that they will be highly poseable. They will also come with accessories and other add-ons, things that were not really paid attention to in the past due to budget reasons.

Apart from launching the action figures of Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck as Superman and Batman, respectively, from the upcoming "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' film, the DC Films line of DC Collectibles will also launch the "Man of Steel" movie version action figures of Jor El, Faora, and Zod. Jesse Eisenberg and Gal Gadot's versions of Lex Luthor and Wonder Woman, respectively, will also be part of the first collection to be released.

However, it is not only the big names in the DC Universe that will be immortalized in the form of action figures. Comic Book Resources revealed that DC Collectibles is also releasing action figures from the upcoming "Suicide Squad" movie. The website further reported that the pieces will surely impress fans with its likeness to the movie's characters as their poses were based on extensive research and piles of movie stills.

Reports have it that the team behind the "Suicide Squad" action figures even resorted to having the digital scans of Joker and Harley Quinn's tattoos in the movie so that they will come out exactly how they should be.

"This is the first time DC Collectibles has made action figures based on DC films, and with this much articulation and attention to detail, we're not holding anything back," said Geoff Johns, chief creative officer of DC Entertainment.

The first wave of the DC Films action figures is expected to hit the market in Fall 2016.
