'Dead Rising 4' Release Date, News: Game Arrives at Steam Next Month
This week, Capcom announced that one of their hit games, "Dead Rising 4," is making its way to Steam next month.
In its official announcement, Capcom tells Steam players: "It's time to get gory as photojournalist and zombie outbreak survivor Frank West returns to Willamette, Colorado 16 years after the events of the original Dead Rising. Frank finds the town under siege from another zombie infestation and the rebuilt Willamette Memorial Megaplex Mall stocked with bloody entrails and all sorts of consumer goods."
Capcom has also revealed the PC systems requirements ahead of the Steam release. At the minimum, "Dead Rising 4" will require a processor as powerful as the Intel i5-2400 or AMD FX 6300 running in a rig with at least a 64-bit Windows 7 operating system.
The game will only run in a PC with at least 6 GB random access memory and a graphics processing unit as good as the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 or AMD Radeon HD 7850 with 2 GB video RAM. Interested players are advised to save at least 50 GB free space for "Dead Rising 4."
On the other hand, if players want to experience the optimum performance of the game, they need to have a rig equipped with an Intel i7-3770 or AMD FX 8350 processor in a 64-bit Windows 10 operating system. An upgrade to 8 GB system RAM works best for the game as well. Meanwhile, for sharper images and animations, a graphics card like the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 or AMD Radeon R9 290 with 4 GB video RAM are recommended.
Gamespot notes that "Dead Rising 4's" arrival at Steam is just one of the promises made by Xbox chief Phil Spencer who reportedly told players that more Microsoft-published games will be brought to the online PC gaming store.
Since Wednesday, "Dead Rising 4" can be pre-ordered with a 20 percent discount that brings the price down to $47.99. Post-launch, the game will be sold at its original price of $59.99.
"Dead Rising 4" will be released for the PC via Steam on March 14.
