'Deadliest Catch' Season 10 Spoilers: Drama, Injury, and 18-Year-Old Daughter Joins Crew

"Deadliest Catch" fans are getting a taste of what is in store on the television series as spoilers were released this week.

The Discovery Channel's hit reality television series is entering its 10th season this year and promises even more danger. One of its stars, Capt. "Wild" Bill Wichrowski, appeared on the "Today" show on Monday where he dropped hints about what is in store, including crab attacks, a government shutdown and family drama.

A sneak peek at season 10 aired on the "Today" show revealing one "Deadliest Catch" star attacked by a king crab -- an injury all too common in the live of the men who work in one of the most dangerous professions on Earth, crabbing in the Bering Sea. A crew member's fingers were pinched in the claws of the giant crab while others urged him not to break the valuable seafood.

"It was a harvestable crab so it was probably worth in the neighborhood of $60," Capt. "Wild" Bill Wichrowski explained on "Today."

"So when it came up, it was really important to save that crab. If you break a leg, they're gonna die, and if they're dead, they're not worth anything," he added. "It's painful, I've been there!"

Capt. "Wild" went on to hint that the new season of "Deadliest Catch" would shed light on his own family issues.

"There's another kid on board, my deck boss Nick, he's kind of my other son," he said on "Today." "Nick has alcohol issues, and there's a lot of trials and tribulations because of that. Toward the end of the season, we have some tough moments because Nick has trouble separating work from fun."

Also this season, Captain Sig Hansen's daughter Mandy joins the crew. Hansen, who is tough but caring, and his crab boat, the Northwestern, have been fan favorites on "Deadliest Catch" since the beginning. Now, Sig is adding his own daughter to the crew.

"She's with us every summer during the salmon season," he told Yahoo TV. "She's been doing that since she was, what, 14? She's had job offers from other salmon boats. And then she said she was going to try crabbing, of course. And I said, 'Over my dead body -- or it's going to be on my boat.' And then, one thing led to another. She's a pretty persuasive kid."

Season 10 of "Deadliest Catch" kicks off Tuesday, April 22 at 9 p.m. on Discovery.

To catch up on all the drama, Discovery is airing "The Bait" which is one hour of pre-game shows beginning on April 22 at 8 p.m. EST. "The Bait" will give in inside look at the episode ahead from the captains who will talk about fishing, drama, and what to expect on "Deadliest Catch."
