'Deadpool 2' News, Update: Josh Brolin Shares Thoughts on Stuntwoman's Tragic Death
A few months ago, the "Deadpool 2" production hit a snag when one of its stuntwomen accidentally died on the set during filming. Although the people behind the film have been mostly mum on the issue since the incident, actor Josh Brolin recently offered up his thoughts on the matter.
With the post-production for "Deadpool 2" already back in full gear, it looks like its cast and crew have already moved on from the tragic incident that took place last summer. It can be recalled that last June, fans of "Deadpool" were shocked by the news that road racer Joi "SJ" Harris, a stuntwoman for "Deadpool 2," was killed on-set while performing a stunt for Zazie Beetz's character Domino.
Shortly after Harris' death, the "Deadpool 2" production temporarily came to a halt, with the cast and crew releasing their own statements on the issue. However, Brolin, who is set to play Cable in the upcoming film, chose to stay silent on the matter.
Now that it has already been months since the incident, Brolin is already ready to talk about Harris' death and how it has affected the "Deadpool 2" production. According to the actor, although it has been a while since Harris' passing, her death continues to be felt on the "Deadpool 2" set.
"We had somebody pass away on 'Deadpool 2' and it was an absolute freak accident. The woman was such a wonderful woman... it wasn't even a stunt, it was a freak accident. It was a terrible thing that happened. Was it a nano-decision that she made in order to save the bike and this, you know what I mean? You could look into it all, but sometimes things just happen that are tragic," said Brolin.
Harris had just joined the film when the accident happened. Known as the first African-American female professional road racer, she died after crashing into a sidewalk curb and being propelled through a glass window at Shaw Tower in Vancouver.
"Deadpool 2" will hit theaters on June 1, 2018.
