The anti-hero Deadpool is different from most Marvel heroes with his dark sense of humor and his ability to break the fourth wall. The character was past portrayed in the "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," which left fans unhappy with the outcome of the character's debut. The production of the stand-alone film for Deadpool faced a lot of struggles. It was rejected by Century Fox after the pitch was presented. However, after a leaked test footage of the film air during the San Diego Comic-Con, comic book fans expressed their interest for the film. This then led the way for the pursuance of Deadpool.

"The response from the fans was overwhelming and it ultimately triggered a green light. Within two months we were in preproduction," said director Tim Miller, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, Gina Carano, and T.J. Miller will join Reynolds in the upcoming film under the direction of Tim Miller. The script is written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. With the production of the film finished, fans can expect the release on Feb. 12, 2016.
