'Deadpool' News: Official Synopsis and Official Costume Revealed

It is official – the "Deadpool" solo movie is happening. Ryan Reynolds who will star as the "Merc with the Mouth" recently posted a photo of himself on Twitter in his official "Deadpool" black and red costume and mask. He parodied a famous nude photo of Burt Reynolds on a rug, with a funny caption to boot: "With great power, comes great irresponsibility."

Aside from the official costume, the movie's official logo was also released, according to a report in Screen Rant. An official Twitter account was also set up (@deadpoolmovie) and an official website.

The movie's official synopsis as published in the website, says: "Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life."

February 2016 is the movie's expected release date. Some observers are saying this is too soon, but some reports also note that "Deadpool" does not need extra time to cast its star and look for a director, as both of these were already on board before the movie was given a go-signal. It also had a working script.

Ryan Reynolds will reprise his role as the mentally-unstable Wade Wilson. Other cast members like Morera Baccarin, Gina Carano and Ed Skrein are playing unknown characters as of the moment. Baccarin will play Wilson's love interest. Skrein has definitely been cast as the villain but no details as to which villain.

The report also hints at a possible bigger connection with the "X-Men" cinematic universe especially if the story will touch on the Weapon X project that created Wolverine and Deadpool. The movie may introduce a better origins story for Weapon X and that of Deadpool also.
