Delirious? Slated for New Book Release
Award-winning British Christian rock and worship band Delirious? will release a new book detailing the stories behind their songs and including reflections and devotions from the group themselves.
I Could Sing of Your Love Forever, a book named after one of the band's most world-renowned worship songs, is an attempt by the band to show how they have made their music, but, more importantly, to show how God has worked in their lives.
"We wanted to write something that was honest but that was also interesting and helpful," explained Stuart Garrard, the group's guitarist, who is also known as Stu G, in CMSpin. "We're all aware that the world doesn't need another rock band telling everyone how great they are, so we only wanted to get involved with a book project if we could keep the focus on Jesus rather than ourselves."
The book is written from first hand accounts from the band members, who each have a variety of stories to tell.
According to the group's website, some narrative examples from the book include inspiration when Stu G prayed for his sick father along with words of prophecy that altered how a song was created.
The biography also details the band's accomplishments, the difficulties, and how God worked through them at those times.
"What we end up with, we hope, is something that charts the journey, showing how things have really been for us: with God as the captain and us as the confused but grateful little ones trying to follow His lead," said Stu G in CMCentral.
I Could Sing of Your Love Forever offers spiritual reflections based on the following songs: "Stronger," "Now Is The Time," "Here I Am, Send Me," "Love Is A Miracle," "Paint The Town Red," "Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble," "Our God Reigns," and of course, "I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever."
The book is scheduled for release in April.
The band will also be kicking off a United States tour this Friday, Mar. 23, in Redmond, Wash., called the Worship Revolution Tour. Alongside Delirious? will be Christian divas Rebecca St. James and Vicky Beeching.
The tour will be go international from Secaucus, N.J., on Apr. 14. The band's last stop will be in Singapore on Nov. 25.
