Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook Rumors: November Release for Refreshed Laptop?
Dell is set to release its refreshed XPS 13 Ultrabook with a Skylake CPU and borderless InfinityEdge display, which is rumored to be launched next month.
Speculations have emerged that the Round Rock, Texas-based computer technology company Dell is set to release a 2015 version of its XPS 13 Ultrabook in November, with a host of new features under the hood and an updated design.
While the new model may appear similar to the old one, it will feature Dell's borderless design that it calls the InfinityEdge display, and an all-aluminum lid and chassis base, with a carbon fibre palm rest at the bottom edge of the keyboard
Slim and lightweight, it will sport a more highly upgraded internal structure, which will include the latest Intel Skylake CPU and a Core i7 processor running at 2.5GHz, and a Turbo running a maximum of 3.1GHz.
Supported by 16GB of RAM, the XPS 13 Ultrabook's storage capacity has been increased to 256GB, with other iterations of the model running to 512GB up to 1TB SSDs.
The XPS 13 will feature a USB Type C port along with two other USB 3 ports, as well as a bigger 56 Wh battery and a smoother trackpad.
Users will have the option to choose from a standard full HD display, or a mega-resolution 3200 x 1800 touchscreen display.
Dell has yet to release information on when its refreshed XPS 13 Ultrabook will be released. However, rumors from German tech site WinFuture claim the laptop is expected to hit the market by November with a price range starting at €1,149 in the UK for its least expensive Core i5 Skylake CPU model, and €2,149 for the Core i7 variant.
While the price point converts to roughly $1,288, it is reported the Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook will cost less in the US compared to its price offering in Europe.
