Demi Lovato Joins 'Glee' In Upcoming Season
Demi Lovato is joining the cast of "Glee" for season five, according to reports Monday.
The 20-year-old singer will appear in an arc of episodes in the upcoming season of Fox's hit show where she will portray a Dani, a struggling artist from New York, according to TV Line.
Furthermore, Dani is a friend of Rachel- Lea Michele's character, as well as Santana, Naya Rivera's character. Lovato's character will also interact with the mysterious character portrayed by Adam Lambert, but details are scarce.

Among her six-episode arc, Lovato will appear in the second half of the show's Beatles tribute.
"Glee" returns to Fox on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 9 p.m.
Lovato's addition to the cast comes just weeks after the teen drama was forced to address the loss of Cory Monteith, who portrayed Finn on "Glee."
The 31-year-old was found dead in his hotel room in Vancouver, Canada on July 13, and an autopsy later revealed that the actor died from a toxic combination of heroin and alcohol.
Earlier this month, "Glee" writers explained how they would deal with Monteith's sudden passing.
"The third episode will write Finn (Monteith) out of the show. That episode will deal directly with the incidents involved with Cory's passing and the drug abuse in particular," Fox's Chairman of Entertainment Kevin Reilly revealed at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Los Angeles.
"Ryan [Murphy] will shoot some PSA's with the cast, who will speak directly to the audience. We will begin shooting in late August the two shows we had already written, so that people can physically go back to work. We will then do an episode that will deal with the death of Finn's character and follow that with a long hiatus," Reilly said.
Furthermore, "Glee" will air a special tribute to Monteith on Oct. 10, after which, the series will take a short hiatus.
Michele, who plays "Glee" lead character Rachel, was dating Monteith both on and off screen- their characters were also in a relationship.
The actress bravely took to Twitter about her return to the "Glee" set earlier this month, and even noted the "beautiful, perfect" song to be featured on the Cory Monteith tribute episode.
"Thank you Alex Anders an Adam Anders for a great recording session today… You guys are the best," Michele started of the show's music producers. "Couldn't have picked a more beautiful & perfect song to start the year with."
According to reports, Michele was anxious to get back to the set of "Glee" despite the widespread grieving on the set.
"She was very adamant that she thought it was best for the cast and crew to get back together sooner [rather] than later," said "Glee" co-creator Ryan Murphy, according to TV Line.
"Cory was so beloved that she felt people really needed to be together in this time," he added. "So we sort of followed her lead."
