Demi Moore Confirmed in Posh Utah Rehab
Actress is also reportedly being treated for an eating disorder
Demi Moore has in fact checked into a rehabilitation facility, despite denials that she is only seeking alternate treatments, E! News reported.
E! News learned over the weekend that the "Ghost" star has checked into Utah's lavish Cirque Lodge addiction treatment center in Sundance.
A source told the entertainment news channel that Moore entered the rehab facility the week after her hospitalization for excessive inhalation of nitrous oxide on Jan. 23. The actress experienced seizure-like symptoms during a house party at her Los Angeles home.
"She's on total lockdown and only talking to a small group of people," the rehab source told E! News. The source added that the Moore, 49, is being treated for an eating disorder in addition to her addiction issues.
"It became clear to her that her way of coping with her stress was not working and she needed more help," the source said.
In the February issue of Harper's Bazaar, Moore discussed her issues with her body image and said that she had made peace with it, but never acknowledged having an eating disorder.
"I sit today in a place of greater acceptance of my body and that includes not just my weight but all of the things that come with your changing body as you as age to now experiencing my body as extremely thin," Moore told Harper's. "Thin in a way that I never imagined somebody would be saying to me, 'you're too thin, and you don't look good."'
One source told People magazine following Moore's accident that Moore's ex husband and father of her three daughters, Bruce Willis, had urged Moore to seek help in the past.
"He was worried about her and wanted her to get better. Many of her friends did the same thing, but she just wouldn't listen," the source said.
Contrary to reports that Moore's exes, Willis and Ashton Kutcher, visited the actress at her home last week, Moore spent the entire week in the Utah facility, E! News reported.
The Lodge offers "the ultimate in privacy for treatment of alcohol and drug addiction in a luxurious mountain retreat," its site explains. The treatment facility has reportedly been a temporary home to such celebrities as Lindsay Lohan, Mary-Kate Olsen and Eva Mendes.
