Demi Moore Divorce: Actress Ends Ashton Kutcher Marriage Following Infidelity Rumors
Demi Moore has announced that she is to divorce Ashton Kutcher, confirming rumors of a split that has been hounding them for weeks.
In a statement released Thursday Moore said that she would be filing for divorce and felt “great sadness and a heavy heart.”
In what appeared to be a reference to Kutcher’s alleged affair on their sixth wedding anniversary Moore added: “As a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life.”
She also asked the media to respect her privacy during the current crisis.
Soon after Moore’s announcement Kutcher took to his Twitter account to say: “I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi.”
He added: “Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and Light, AK.”
The pair was married on September 24, 2005, but their relationship hit the rocks recently when news emerged of his alleged infidelity with 22-year-old Sara Leal in San Diego, California.
Media outlets immediately commenced rumors about what kind of divorce settlement would emerge between the ex-couple as they have an estimated $290 million fortune.
