Denise Richards Keeping Brooke Mueller's Twins Until End of Year, Court Rules
Denise Richards will have custody of Brooke Mueller and Charlie Sheen's twins for the rest of the year, according to reports. Richards has had custody of the twins since earlier this year, when they were removed by Child Protective Services and Mueller went to rehab.
Child Protective Services "recommended that while Brooke continues to get treatment for her drug addiction, the twins continue to live with Denise for the rest of the year," a source told Radar Online.
Mueller entered rehab for drug addiction but moved out of a sober living facility in order to be closer with her boyfriend. Ex-boyfriend and parent of the twins Charlie Sheen was reportedly furious with Mueller for leaving the residential facility. She will no longer be randomly drug-tested, which Sheen thinks will help keep Mueller on the sober path.
"Brooke is going to need to demonstrate during that time a commitment to her sobriety and recovery, and not have any dirty drug tests," the insider added. "Denise is thrilled to take care of the twins and hopes to make it permanent. The boys are doing extremely well in her care."
Sheen is happy with the situation and is content to let Max and Bob stay with Richards and his other children. Richards has apparently offered to let the boys stay with her permanently and rejected the offer of extra child support from Sheen.
"Charlie is extremely generous and wanted to make sure having the twins in Denise's care didn't place a financial strain on her. Denise was thankful for the offer but declined because she has the financial means to take care of them herself. She isn't doing this for the money," a friend told Radar earlier.
Sheen, unhappy with Mueller's actions, has filed paperwork to stop child support payments to her. Mueller previously expressed fear that Sheen would cut off her means of income and now that fear has come true. She has not responded to Sheen's actions and the court's decision to keep her sons with Richards.
