Denver Broncos vs San Diego Chargers Live Stream: Watch NFL Thursday Night Football Online (CBS TV Start Time, Preview)

The Denver Broncos will host the San Diego Chargers on Thursday Night Football, in a massive AFC West match up. Coming into Week 8 of the season, these two teams have only lost a combined total of three games all season-long, and this game could have big Playoff implications. Thursday Night Football will start at 8.25 p.m. ET and will take place at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado. The game can be watched on TV on the CBC network or online through live stream (details below).

Coming into today's game the Denver Broncos are 5-1 and if they can take down the Chargers today then they will be in complete control of the division.

The Chargers though will be a tough prospect, and they will realize what an opportunity tonight is; if they can defeat the Broncos in Denver, they would move to 6-2 while dumping the Broncos to 5-2. That would place the Chargers in a great position moving at the midway point in the season.

But defeating the Broncos in their own back yard is a tough prospect for any team in the NFL, and the Chargers will have to be at the top of their game to even compete with the Broncos tonight.

There are so many fantastic match ups between the two teams tonight, and that will ensure this is one of the best Thursday Night Football match ups of the season so far.

For once, Peyton Manning will be facing a quarterback who has also been destroying opposition defenses almost as much as himself. Philip Rivers has thrown 17 touchdowns to date this season, and has thrown 1,961 yards. Manning meanwhile has thrown 19 touchdowns, albeit in one game less than Rivers, and has thrown for 1,848 yards.

Rivers' main target men have been Antonio Gates and Eddie Royal. Gates has 7 touchdowns to his name, receiving 27 times for 363 yards, where as Royal has successfully taken the ball 23 times for 345 yards and 5 touchdowns.

In addition, Malcolm Floyd has gone for the most yards, receiving 20 times for 412 yards and 3 touchdowns. Keenan Allen has received 34 catches for 354 yards.

Manning has destroyed teams with his throws to Julius Thomas and Demaryius Thomas, combining with those two for a total of 15 touchdowns. Julius Thomas has received 28 passes for 304 yards and 9 touchdowns, where as Demaryius Thomas has received the ball 39 times for 662 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Looking to do the damage on the ground, Branden Oliver has carried 72 times for 316 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Chargers, where as Ronnie Hillman has carried 55 times for 240 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Broncos.

So far this season the Chargers' success has in large part come due to their fantastic third down conversion rate, which is way up there at 51.5 percent. The Broncos have also done well on third down, converting 44.3 percent of the time.

The Broncos have one of the most devastating defenses in the league, averaging 31.5 points per game, where as the Chargers are not too far behind, averaging 26.3 points per game themselves.

The two teams are almost identical in defense for total yards allowed per game; the Broncos have allowed 316.8 yards per game, where as the Chargers have allowed 316.4 yards per game.

Denver will be coming into tonight's game as the slightly more confident team. In the past two weeks they have defeated a stubborn New York Jets team 31-17, and destroyed the San Francisco 49ers 42-17 in Week 7.

The Chargers meanwhile struggled to a 31-28 win on the road to the Oakland Raiders, but slipped up last week, losing 20-23 at home to the Kansas City Chiefs.

That doesn't bode well for them now coming on the road to Denver to play the Broncos, and unless the Chargers snap out of their recent lull in form, it could end up being a long night for them at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado.
