Denver Nuggets NBA Trade Rumors: Clippers, Thunder, Rockets Interested in Wilson Chandler
Who would have thought that Wilson Chandler would become one of the hottest trade targets this close to the trade deadline?
The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski has revealed that the Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Clippers have expressed interest in acquiring Chandler. But they aren't the only ones keeping an eye on the Denver Nuggets forward because the Houston Rockets are pursuing him as well, according to ESPN's Chris Haynes.
Chandler is a small forward who can also play power forward in a small ball lineup, so he'll definitely fit in with the three teams interested in his services.
With Enes Kanter sidelined with a fractured right forearm, the Thunder needs someone to take the scoring load off Russell Westbrook. Victor Oladipo and Steven Adams have been trying to fill the gap, but they will need all the help they can get since Domantas Sabonis and Andre Roberson don't really do much on the offensive end. Chandler is a proven scorer and he fits the bill perfectly.
Chandler can also start right away at small forward for the Clippers if they manage to get him. He's definitely better than Luc Richard Mbah a Moute and Wesley Johnson, and he can spread the floor with his outside shooting. Chandler can also come off the bench if they opt to put him on the second unit.
Meanwhile, Chandler played under current Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni during his time with the New York Knicks, so D'Antoni already knows what he can do. Chandler can back up starting forwards Ryan Anderson and Trevor Ariza, and he will fit in quite nicely when they go for a small ball lineup.
Talk about a potential trade involving Chandler came up earlier this month when USA Today's Sam Amick reported that he was unhappy with his role with the Nuggets. Well, Chandler may get a chance to start fresh if he gets traded in the next few days.
