Derrick Rose Involved in a DUI?
Last season's NBA MVP, Derrick Rose, was seen leaving a Los Angeles police station Friday at 3:00 a.m. PDT, after he was a passenger in a DUI arrest, according to a TMZ report.
Friend and personal assistant, Randall Hampton was driving the black BMW, which cops pulled over for a traffic violation around 2 a.m. PDT Friday Morning.
Cops were able to detect the odor of alcohol on Hampton's breathe.
Hampton was arrested on suspicion of DUI after taking a sobriety test, while Rose, a passenger, was permitted to go.
In the video Rose was captured leaving the precinct after checking up on his friend and refused to make a comment on camera to the reporter.
The 23-year-old Rose is a two time all-star and won the Rookie of the Year award in 2009 in addition to the MVP this year.
He also won numerous accolades in his lone year of college, including NCAA Tournament South Region MVP and Conference USA Freshman of the Year.
Off the court, Rose has an endorsement deal with Adidas sneakers, Wilson Sporting Goods, Skullcandy headphones, Powerade, and a Chicago Nissan dealership.
