'Destiny 2.0' Update News: Preview Provides Additional Details

Bungie is jumping the gun on itself, it seems, as the game developer provided what it called a "tactical preview" of the game's upcoming update, dubbed "Destiny 2.0." The update is arriving on September 8, which is a week away from the release of the expansion pack "The Taken King." According to a report in Game Spot, the preview is intended not only to give players an idea of what's in store for them in the update, but also to prepare players for the update.

Among the changes that players should expect include an increased level cap, with a special note on the separation of the Character Level and the Light Level and having a Quest screen in the menu which allows for tracking of active quests. In terms of Bounties, there will be an increase in Bounty slots and in the case of Incomplete Year One bounties, they may either be auto-abandoned or auto-completed depending on the type of bounties. For more details, check out the report.

In preparation for these changes, Bungie suggested that players should complete their Year One Bounties; they should not "delete characters or dismantle items;" they should do the Year One campaign again and they should complete their Moments of Triumph, among other suggestions. "Destiny 2.0" for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One requires 18 GB of hard drive space and only 10 GB on the Xbox 360. As for PlayStation 3 gamers, they need 20 GB to download the update, and only 10 GB upon its installation.

The other piece of good news, according to the report, is that players can get to try "The Taken King's" new player vs. player game content, which includes two game modes and eight maps, for free for one week. This will be through the Crucible Preview Event, which will happen from September 8 to 14.
