'Destiny 2' DLC Release Date: New Leak Reveals Story and Character Details on Post-Launch Expansions
Players wasted no time datamining the PC version of "Destiny 2" shortly after its release. This led to some exciting discoveries with regard to what Bungie has planned for post-launch support.
Dataminers found unused dialog lines believed to be from the first DLC coming to the game that will bring to the fold Warlock Osiris from the first "Destiny" game and Shiro from Rise of Iron as well as the Mercury's Lighthouse as a returning location.
More components from the first game are also tucked into the "Destiny 2" game files including Prison of Elders and in-game events like Crimson Days, The Dawning and Festival of the Lost.
There are also details found that make mention of the second "Destiny 2" DLC called Warmind. There are also unused elements involving the Red Legion, which suggests that it could reappear in future expansions as well.
There are also details referring to the Jovian moon Ganymede and a mysterious location known as The Myriad, which Eurogamer believes is nothing new and could simply be the old name for Nessus.
Dataminers also stumbled upon a line that mentions "House of Dusk." It is described as a brand-new Fallen group that worships The Darkness, which is cited in the epilogue scene of "Destiny 2."
The datamined game files reveal that Bungie could be planning to bring this group to the fold and explore the story of this new group and realm although there is nothing confirmed at the moment.
More importantly, the leak also includes lines that refer to Cayde biting the dust, which does not happen at all in "Destiny 2." Unless the character's fate is just about to change, Eurogamer says that it could simply be leftover files from the original plans for the story, which may have involved a brutal end for the hero.
