'Destiny 2' Is No. 1 in UK Charts for Second Week Running
Bungie's first-person shooter video game "Destiny 2" continues to dominate the UK charts in its second week of release.
Since it was launched back in Sept. 5, the game has claimed the top spot in the UK game charts. The title managed to stay at number one despite some massive new releases from other developers.
Recently released sports simulation games like "NBA 2K18" and "Pro Evolution Soccer 2018" failed to shake "Destiny 2" off the top spot, both landing in second and third place, respectively.
Even the long-awaited standalone expansion "Dishonoured 2: Death of the Outsider," which landed only on the sixth spot, was no match for the sequel.
"Fallout 4" by Bethesda Game Studios claimed the fourth spot, which is rather an impressive feat for a game that is already almost two years old. "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy," the standalone "Uncharted" game released back in late August, trails behind.
"Grand Theft Auto 5" is at number seven in the UK charts, proving that the action-adventure video game has not lost its appeal four years after its initial release. This is, in part, due to the regular updates and content released by Rockstar Games.
The new side scrolling title "Metroid: Samus Returns," released just a few days ago, made it to the list at number eight. "Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy," which conquered the UK charts for consecutive weeks in the past couple of months, drops to number nine with "Forza Horizon 3" capping things off.
With how "Destiny 2" is currently doing, it will be interesting to see if it will be able to stay on top in the weeks to come with titles like "Super Mario Odyssey," "Middle-Earth: Shadow of War" and "Assassin's Creed: Origins" coming next month.
Meanwhile, "Destiny 2" recently received its latest update for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, addressing some bugs and issues that need some fixing such as the Man O' War quest reward glitch.
