Destiny 2 Release Date News: Coming September 2016, To Feature Guardians With Special Powers, Free Updates

Almost a year ago, Bungie announced the MMO Destiny: The Taken King for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One, as well as the PlayStation 3 and 4. After waiting for months, it seems that the expansion is set to be launched next month.

But for fans who are waiting for the sequel, Destiny 2: The Shattered Sun will reportedly be launched by September next year. So what are we expecting from this new game?

Based on a report by MNR Daily, the upcoming first-person shooter and MMO will offer new features to players. One of these alleged changes is the creation of a new character. Called as guardians, players would be able to create these beings who will help their characters advance.

Some of the unique powers or abilities of the guardian include "seeing the future," which enables the player to know the different enemies that they need to face later on. In addition, the guardians also inform players about the things they need to do in order to defeat their enemies. And even before facing their opponents, the characters would already know the prizes they hold with the help of the guardian.

Meanwhile, a Reddit user allegedly leaked some details about the upcoming Destiny 2 MMO from Bungie. Aside from the fact that it would reportedly be handled by Activision, the upcoming MMO would provide free updates to its players, as opposed to the paid features of the current game.

However, a user who commented on a report about Destiny states that the game will not be named Destiny 2, but 2.0. This could mean that the upcoming game is actually an expansion of the current MMO. In the report, a job listing for a PC Compatibility Tester by Bungie could be a hint that the upcoming version would be able to run on PCs, something a lot of people have been waiting for.
