'Destiny 2' Rumors: The 'Sparrow Racing League' May Be Coming Back Soon
Data miner recently found references to the 'Sparrow Racing League' in the game's files
It has not taken long for curious "Destiny 2" players to attempt to peek behind the curtain and see what may be coming in the future. And just recently, some pretty interesting things were discovered by a data miner.
Redditor "TheEcumene" recently went digging through the game's files and found some familiar things.
To be more specific, the data miner was able to find references to events that were included in the original "Destiny's" calendar, such as "Crimson Days," "The Festival of the Lost" and the "Sparrow Racing League."
Now, there are a few things that need to be noted here.
While a reference to "The Festival of the Lost" was found, players should not expect that particular event to go live anytime soon. Community manager "DeeJ" confirmed that the event was not going live this year, but left open the possibility that it may return "someday."
"DeeJ" then clarified that "The Dawning" will be the first event that will go live inside "Destiny 2."
The last time "The Dawning" was held for "Destiny," the event brought back the "Sparrow Racing League," and given what "The Ecumene" was able to uncover, there may be a chance that the developers are planning to link those two together again this year.
Developers have already confirmed that "The Dawning" will bring new pieces of themed gear and even minigames such as hockey and snowball fights to the game, Polygon reported. Perhaps they just opted not to announce one of the bigger features of the event just yet.
Those aforementioned data mining finds are certainly interesting, and if they pan out, then players may be able to take part in some events in the near future, including one that involves some high-speed racing.
More news about "Destiny 2" and the events that may be going live inside of it should be made available in the near future.
