'Destiny 2' Updates: Winter Is Coming at the Tower in Game's Upcoming Icy Event
Bungie is changing things up for "Destiny 2" with their updates directly affected by seasons.
The studio revealed at their TwitchCon panel via IGN that they will carry out a huge event per season, which means that in a year, four big celebrations will be held on the game.
The "Destiny 2" update will match the season and will allow players to experience dog days during summer and see the colorful flowers bloom in spring.
Each season will also come with perks and items like emotes or ships that "Destiny 2" gamers can earn only during that specific time of year. When the particular season ends, so does the availability of these bonuses.
All these changes will be implemented as gamers welcome the cold new season, which indicates that things are about be colder than usual in the "Destiny" sequel.
For winter, The Tower in "Destiny 2" will be covered in a blanket of snow and players can revel in the wintry weather by throwing snowballs and even playing hockey.
As an added bonus for this season, players will also be able to use these snowballs not just for fun but also as weapons. They can actually throw them at their enemies in the field and deal some damage.
The Dawning will also make its big return to "Destiny 2" during this icy event. The limited-time competition, which was first held last year in the first installment of the video game franchise, appears to be solely a winter affair, per GameSpot.
During this, players will be able to snag a unique set of gear and items such as winter-themed cosmetic items and Dawning-focused armor that they can expect to see at the Bright Engrams.
The winter event will serve as the launching pad for a brand new season of fun and content coming to "Destiny 2" and Bungie has a lot in store for gamers.
