'Destiny' Boss Challenge: Oryx's Son, Crota, Defeated Through Pure Voice Commands

A new record has been written on the book of challenges done by "Destiny" players. This time, one player defeated Crota, Oryx's son, through pure voice commands — no use of a controller whatsoever.

YouTuber Sean Gallagher, also known in Reddit as GladHeAteHer182, posted a video (below) of his latest achievement. Using only voice commands, Gallagher guides his character, a hunter, throughout the game.

"Double jump...Left 90...Crouch...Sprint forward...Pick up...180...Heavy....Attack…" Gallagher can be heard saying in the video below.

Prior to undergoing the challenge, Gallagher had his friend fUnderdog do some tinkering with CronusMax's voice command tools. An example of a command he programmed is "take him down," which triggers the following action: "hold Y to bring out heavy, RT to slam the exotic sword, hold X to pick up the relic."

Gallagher had a close call with Crota, though, as he had to contend with delay and unfamiliarity with the voice commands. But with a little bit of luck, he emerged victorious.

"I'll be the first one to say that I am soooooo lucky at the end of this," Gallagher writes in the video's description box. "I don't know how my character was even able to land that last hit.... As you can see, he does move forward away from Crota. However, the crazy aim assist allowed for the third hit! I ain't even mad."

This is just the latest challenge Gallagher has done. He had previously defeated Crota blindfolded and while using a "Rock Band 4" drum kit.

"Destiny" players are known for challenging themselves, and this is but the latest in a string of these said challenges.

Previously, Crota's dad, Oryx, was defeated single-handedly. The player who achieved this great feat, known as TheGreatGatsby, was even featured by Bungie in its official site.
