Destiny Expansion Datamined for Details, Bungie Offering Free Trial of Game
Destiny has been out for a few months now and its first expansion is scheduled for launch on Dec. 9 later on this year. A number of fans have already datamined the patch to get a glimpse on what will be featured in the expansion. The expansion, "The Dark Below," is the first in two upcoming patches for the game, with the second, "House of Wolves," slated for next year.
Bungie has mentioned that the first expansion will be focusing on a new character named Eris Morn, who will be acting as a quest give for the players, a faction leader, and a vendor in the Tower. Players will be visiting her to get the expansions three new story quests.
The three quests will be called "The Dark Below," "Ritual of Sacrifice" and "Fist of Crota." The first quest will be where players first meet Eris and where she asks you to prove your worth. The second will be see players descending into the Hellmouth to find the sacrificial chambers. In the last quest, players will face the Fist of Crota leading the Spawn on Earth.

Among other details are nine missions which reference Crota, the expansion's main threat. Around two dozen bounties for Eris will be coming too. Exotic items will also be making their appearance in the expansion as well as new legendary Runed Cores which are created from five Black Wax Idols.
There's also Legendary items, the Radiant Energy and Radiant Shards which are equivalent to the Ascendant Energy and Ascendant Shards. Their purpose however, is still unknown.
In the meantime, Bungie is offering a free trial for the game on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and on the Playstation 3. Once players upgrade to the full version of the game, they can transfer their save files onto the full version.
"For those on current-gen platforms, the Destiny trial can instantaneously upgraded to the full game via their console's digital storefront – no further download required. Those playing on last-gen consoles, however, will need to purchase a copy of Destiny digitally or through retail, independent of the demo," says Bungie.
