'Destiny' Lets Players Celebrate Halloween With Its 'Festival Of The Lost'
Bungie has a special treat for "Destiny" players this Halloween. Starting October 26, the game developer launched what it called "The Festival of the Lost" in the Tower, which is likened to a Halloween party within the game. The special event will be running until November 9, according to a report in Tech Times.
To participate in this special event, players will be asked to visit Eva Levante in Tower North after logging in. They will be given a bag of treats or candy. After this, players will need to go around the Tower and get treats from all the major vendors. The Tower, according to the report, is also decked in Halloween decorations, from Engram lamps, purple lights and corresponding sound effects (e.g. cries of terror).
After trick-or-treating, players then go back to Eva to exchange their full bag of treats for what is called "Treasures of the Lost," which is basically composed of candies and different types of paper masks. Players will need to put on a mask, and with another empty sack, go about collecting candy again from their enemies. As long as they have their masks on, their enemies will drop candy. Once they fill up their sack, they go back to Eva again to exchange for more goodies.

The masks have a very specific purpose as some of them will be needed in order for players to fulfill specific quests. In most cases, a specific mask is needed to beat a specific enemy, so the more candy you collect, the more masks you can get from Eva. An added challenge is permanently unlocking the masks by upgrading them to their Legendary versions, which can be done with upgrade materials that players can get when trading bags of candy or even dismantling duplicate masks.
In addition to the masks and the special quests, the update also includes a new Crucible map called the Cathedral of Dusk. The best news is the Halloween update is being provided by Bungie for free.
