'Destiny: The Taken King' Final 2015 PvP Event: Lord Saladin's Iron Banner Returns with Exclusive Gear Set for PlayStation Players

Tuesday for the "Destiny: The Taken King" community is a time for reset, but this week is extra special as Bungie rolls out the game's final 2015 PvP event. Lord Saladin returns with Iron Banner exclusive gear set for owners of Sony's PlayStation 4.

In a post at Sony's official blog, Bungie's community manager David Dague, mostly known in the community as DeeJ, wrote a brief message to all Guardians of PlayStation.

"DeeJ from Bungie here, with some important news for all Crucible warriors. Iron Banner returns today," Dague states in his post on Dec. 29. "When Lord Saladin appears in the Tower, he'll have something extra to entice you to join the battle. On PlayStation, champions of the competitive event will have a chance to earn an exclusive gear set."

This PlayStation-exclusive armor is part of an agreement between Bungie and Sony to offer PlayStation users with exclusive content.

Non-PlayStation gamers will also get a chance to receive their own armor sets. There will be armor sets for the Titan class, the Hunter class, and the Warlock class. Armor sets include helmets, leg armor, and class items.

Bungie had previously stated that the Iron Banner event will be returning to its Original gametype. The event requires "Destiny" players to win in matches and rank up and in so doing will receive rewards from Lord Saladin himself or via loot drops at the end of each completed match.

The rewards include boots for champions who will level up to Rank 3, helmets and auto rifles for winners who level up to Rank 4, and a shotgun for those who win matches and level up to Rank 5. These endgame gear rewards will be given by Lord Saladin.

Rewards that will be dropped at the end of matches include helmets for champions levelling up to Rank 2, class items and auto rifles for winners of matches who level up to Rank 3, and a shotgun for winners who level up to Rank 4.
